Its a stormy Sunday with a sick pet and a sick spouse. So, what to do but make something. This is all upcycled material made into a messenger bag. I improvised the design around a magazine and also wanted room for lunch in there. The outside fabric is a yarn dyed cotton I bought at the East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse. That’s where I also got the interlining, which is a quilted gold woven piece. I got the structural interior layer from the community bin at Stone Mountain and Daughter fabrics. The mini quilt block is something I made years ago with batik and a turmeric dyed floral fabric. The binding is from my scrap pile. I think I’ll add a magnet closure for the front flap.
What are you making?
