Working out a quilt. It is in the style of applique. I cut out some shapes and applied them to a base fabric. Then I added borders and now I am in the process of sewing the layers together, the quilt sandwich. I am using a hemp batting for the middle layer. It is very light, yet cozy. My challenge was to use the fabric I had already collected (mostly from the Depot for Creative Reuse in Oakland) to make the center, and have some good fun with the Juki. I made at least 3 big mistakes during the execution of my original design which caused my design to evolve and surprise me.
Quilt complete, keeping the bed one layer warmer.
Awesome!
